Death can be difficult, each of us has our way of coping. There are no right or wrong ways as we each have our natural emotional response. However, there are approaches one can take through the religious teachings and the Sunnah.<\/p>

Abu Huraira (May Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah\u2019s Messenger (\ufdfa) as saying: When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three, recurring charity, or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious son, who prays for him (for the deceased)<\/strong>
The most important thing we can do is to make dua for the deceased<\/span>. It is our continual prayer, dua, and remembrance for the dead that will benefit them.<\/p>

In another hadith Narrated `Aisha: A man said to the Prophet, \u201cMy mother died suddenly, and I think that if she could speak, she would have given in charity. May I give in charity on her behalf?\u201d He said, \u201cYes! Give in charity on her behalf.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>

Upon Hearing the news of someone who just passed away:<\/strong><\/p>

In Arabic: \u0625\u0650\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0627 \u0644\u0650\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0625\u0650\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0653 \u0625\u0650\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0647\u0650 \u0631\u064e\u0670\u062c\u0650\u0639\u064f\u0648\u0646\u064e<\/strong>
Transliteration \u201cIndeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.\u201d<\/p>

This is ayah 156 of Surah Baqarah and is recommended by Allah to be recited when disaster strikes them.<\/p>

Translation: Allaahummaghfir li (name of the person) warfa\u2019 darajatahu fil-mahdiyyeena, wakhlufhu fee \u2018aqibihi fil-ghaabireena , waghfir-lanaa wa lahu yaa Rabbal-\u2018aalameena, wafsah lahu fee qabrihi wa nawwir lahu feehi
Meaning: O Allah, forgive [name of the person] and elevate his station among those who are guided. Send him along the path of those who came before, and forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds. One of the most powerful duas from the Quran that we can make for the deceased is asking Allah for mercy and forgiveness for them.<\/p>

It is a plea for Allah\u2019s boundless mercy and forgiveness, acknowledging that Allah is the Most Merciful and forgiving.<\/p>

Dua for Protection from the Trial of the Grave:<\/strong><\/h4>

The trial of the grave is a test for every soul. A prophetic dua to protect the deceased from this trial is<\/p>

English: \u201cO Allah, protect him from the trial of the grave.\u201d
Arabic : \u201c\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647\u0645 \u0642\u0647 \u0641\u062a\u0646\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0642\u0628\u0631\u201d
This supplication asks Allah to guard the deceased against the challenges they may face after death.<\/p>

A comforting dua from the Sunnah is for the expansion of the grave, offering the deceased more space and light.<\/p>
