The morning adhkār are among the most consistent practices of the Prophet ﷺ. They are a daily shield, a strong barrier against Shayṭān, and a powerful way to place your day under the care and protection of Allah, Exalted be He.
Scholars explain that the one who begins the day with the remembrance of Allah is granted spiritual safety, inner peace, and blessing in their actions. These supplications are recited after the Fajr prayer, and their protection extends until the evening.

1. Ayat al-Kursī

A man came to him asking him to guard a charity deposit. A thief would come every night and steal food. On the third night, he said:
“When you go to bed, recite Ayat al-Kursī. Allah will protect you, and no devil will come near you until morning.”
The next day, Abū Hurayrah reported this to the Prophet ﷺ, who said:
“He told the truth, even though he is a liar. That was a devil.”

Bismillāhi lladhī lā yaḍurru maʿa-smihī shay’un fī l-arḍi wa lā fī s-samā’ wa Huwa s-Samīʿu l-ʿAlīm.
Translation
In the Name of Allah, with Whose Name nothing can cause harm on earth or in the heavens. And He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ
وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ
Transliteration
Subḥānallāhi wa bi-ḥamdih, ʿadada khalqih, wa riḍā nafsih, wa zinata ʿarshih, wa midāda kalimātih.
Translation
Glory and praise be to Allah: as many as His creation, as pleased as He is with Himself, as heavy as His Throne, and as vast as the ink of His words.

Juwayriya bint al-Ḥārith رضي الله عنها reported:
The Prophet ﷺ left her after Fajr while she was making dhikr. When he returned, he said:
“I have said after you four phrases three times. If they were weighed against what you have said since this morning, they would outweigh it.”

9. “Allāhumma ʿāfinī fī badanī…” (three times)

اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَدَنِي

اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَصَرِي
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ وَالْفَقْرِ
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ

Allāhumma ʿāfinī fī badanī. Allāhumma ʿāfinī fī samʿī. Allāhumma ʿāfinī fī baṣarī. Lā ilāha illā anta.
Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika mina l-kufri wa l-faqr. Wa aʿūdhu bika min ʿadhābi l-qabr. Lā ilāha illā anta.
Translation
O Allah, grant me well-being in my body, in my hearing, and in my sight. There is no deity worthy of worship except You. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. There is no deity worthy of worship except You.

Translation
Allah is sufficient for me. There is no deity worthy of worship except Him. In Him I place my trust, and He is the Lord of the عظیم Throne.

O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, by Your mercy I seek help. Set right for me all of my affairs, and do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye.

Asbahnâ wa asbaha-l-mulku li-llâhi wa-l-hamduli-llâh. Lâ ilâha illâ llâhu wahdahu lâ sharîka lah, lahu-l-mulku wa lahu-l-hamdu wa huwa ‘alâ kulli shayin Qadîr. Rabbi, asaluka khayra mâ fî hâdha-l-yawmi wa khayra mâ ba’dah. Wa a’ûdhu bika min sharri mâ fî hâdha-l-yawmi wa sharri mâ ba’dah. Rabbi a’ûdhu bika min al-kasali wa sû’i-l-kibar. Translation
We have entered the morning, and the dominion belongs to Allah. All praise is for Allah. There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, alone without partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs praise, and He is capable of all things. O Lord, I ask You for the good of this day and the good that comes after it. And I seek refuge in You from the evil of this day and the evil that comes after it. O Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and the evils of old age. And I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the Fire and the punishment of the grave.
