Achieve greater independence in understanding Arabic

Level 3 is the advanced stage of the Madinah Books programme.

It develops the reading of longer texts, analysis, academic and Islamic vocabulary, and the advanced grammar and morphology needed to progress toward works in the Islamic sciences.

  • Read longer and more complex Arabic texts.
  • Analyse grammatical and morphological structures.
  • Build a broader academic and Islamic vocabulary.
  • Express yourself in a more structured way in speaking and writing.

Who is this level for?

  • Students who have completed Level 2 or have an equivalent level.
  • Learners who can understand intermediate-level Arabic texts.
  • Students who want to deepen their grammar and morphology.
  • Those who want to prepare progressively to read Islamic works in Arabic.
This is an advanced level. If you did not complete the previous levels with Al-Dirassa, an assessment is recommended to check your actual command of grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.

Frequently asked questions about Level 3

What level do I need before starting?
You should have mastered the skills covered in the first two levels: reading, vocabulary, basic grammar, and comprehension of intermediate texts.
How long does Level 3 take?
Level 3 includes a total credit of 96 hours of one-to-one lessons. The pace is set at 2 hours per week, with a target of 48 weeks of lessons, or about one year. The 48 weeks are a progression target, not an expiry date for your lesson credit.
Does this level enable me to read tafsir or hadith books?
It prepares you to read simplified works of tafsir, hadith, and fiqh. Independent reading of advanced works will still require further study.
What happens if I complete the level before using all 96 hours?
If your teacher validates the Level 3 objectives before all 96 hours are used, you automatically progress to Level 4 without placing a new order. Your remaining credit is retained and used to continue your progress.
What happens if I have not used all 96 hours after 12 months?
Your remaining hours are not lost. The 12 monthly payments cover your 96-hour credit. If lessons have been postponed, you can continue studying after the twelfth payment until your remaining credit is used.
Can I temporarily pause my lessons?
Yes. Monthly payments continue during the pause, but lessons not taken are moved to the end of your schedule and remain available until used.
How are absences handled?
A lesson cancelled at least 3 hours in advance can be moved to the end of your schedule, up to 3 absences per month. If these conditions are not met, the lesson is deducted from your hour credit.
Can I change the pace of 2 hours per week?
No. This plan is organised at a fixed pace of 2 hours per week to maintain steady progress and consistent subscription scheduling.

96 hours of lessons at a fixed pace of 2 hours per week

Level 3 includes a total credit of 96 hours of one-to-one lessons. The pace for this plan is fixed at 2 hours per week, with a target of 48 weeks of lessons, or about one year.

Payment is spread over 12 monthly payments of 8 hours. The 48 weeks are a progression target; they are not an expiry date for your lesson credit.

  • 96 hours of one-to-one lessons in total.
  • 2 hours of lessons per week.
  • 48 weeks of lessons as a learning target.
  • 12 monthly payments, each corresponding to 8 hours.
  • Dedicated teacher and pedagogical follow-up after lessons.

Your lesson credit remains available until it is used

If lessons are postponed because of holidays, authorised absences, or a temporary pause, your remaining hours are not lost. You may continue beyond 48 weeks and beyond the 12 monthly payments until your remaining credit is used.

Example: if your 12 monthly payments have ended but you still have purchased hours remaining, you simply continue your lessons without paying for those hours again until the remaining credit is used.

Absences, rescheduling, and temporary pauses

  • A lesson cancelled at least 3 hours in advance can be moved to the end of your schedule.
  • Rescheduling is available up to 3 absences per month.
  • If these conditions are not met, the lesson is deducted from your hour credit.
  • A temporary pause in lessons is possible.
  • During a pause, monthly payments continue, but lessons not taken are moved to the end of your schedule.
  • The subscription involves a commitment of 12 monthly payments and cannot be cancelled before the commitment ends.

Progressing to the next level and additional hours

  • If your teacher validates Level 3 before you use all 96 hours, you automatically progress to Level 4 without placing a new order.
  • Your remaining credit is then used to continue your progress at the next level.
  • If you have used all 96 hours but have not yet completed the level, you can add hours with the Flex plan.
  • The pace for this plan remains fixed at 2 hours per week.

Validation of the advanced level

The final assessment checks your ability to read, understand, and analyse texts at the expected level.

It also confirms your progression to Level 4. If Level 3 is validated before all 96 hours are used, progression to the next level is automatic and no new order is required.

  • Continuous assessment during lessons.
  • Assessment of text comprehension.
  • Verification of grammatical and morphological knowledge.
  • Al-Dirassa certificate after validation.
  • Automatic progression to Level 4 if the objectives are validated before all 96 hours are used.
  • Remaining lesson credit is kept to continue the programme.
